safety harness in two man ladder stand?

I have always ground blind hunted. I picked up a two man ladder stand over a year ago and I am going to use it this year. Do you use a safety harness when you are in a stand like this? I'm thinking I should, but wanted to hear from everyone. Also I'm a big guy(280) what is the best harness to get?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I use a HSS rated for big guys. Not only are you insuring your safety, but it makes you feel more secure and confident to move around when you have to shoot at unusual angles and different positions.

Yes. Use a safety rope going up and down the ladder, and stay hooked up while in the stand.

Hookup before leaving the ground and don't unhook till I'm back on the ground.

I have been using a 2-man ladder stand for years and most recently stopped using a harness. Honestly, it's just pure laziness on my part - I liked the feeling of security that I got when using the harness and it takes almost no addi'tl time to put on. The only drawback was that it sometimes restricted movement when I stood up/looked behind the stand.

I have 6-2 man ladders that we hunt from and yes we always wear a harness. I have large eye bolts in each tree to make clipping in a breeze.

Dont be lazy... your family wants you to come home from hunting... alive.. not in a wheelchair.

I use a harness when i'm off the ground. It takes less than an 8 ft fall to impair you for the rest of your life, or kill you... I've flown too many folks who fell out of a stand and never got to hunt again, or work again, or throw a ball with their kiddo, or get in the pool in the summer... and "other" important things related to having/making kids... use the right protection in the right situation!! lol... guess that is a multi-meaning PSA.
