Too much rain for my food plot?

I finished planting my first ever food plot last thursday @ 11pm to beat fridays rain. Ive been pumped because friday brought some rain as well as a couple of showers the next couple of days. PERFECT!!!! Then the rain showed up today, and lots of it. Water is standing in my front yard, swimming pool is overflowing, ankle deep at my gate and my food plot is located in the woods behind my house. How much rain is too much?

Happened to me a week or two back. It didn't come up good, I'm still waiting for it to dry out and replant. Looks like lots of rain in the forecast this week. I've already had over 5" this month in southwest Brazoria Co.

It may work out for you. My plot ended up looking like a duck pond. Lol. Had about 3-4" of water covering it.

I have only had this property for 4 months so I'm not sure how well it drains. I will be back there as soon as I get home.

Yep let us know. Fingers crossed that you don't have to replant.

Wasn't able to make it to the back. I could see a couple of does grazing through the woods and didn't want to disturb them. Usually I will drive my mower back there to throw out corn or check my feeder because it don't spook them very bad, it's too wet for that today. Judging by my trail cam videos, squirrels and coons have taken over my feeder and I'm counting on the food plot to be the game changer.

Hogs and coons took over my feeder. I've been killing pigs but they don't quit. I let my feeder run out of corn and it was just dry enough to replant my plot this evening. I'm counting on the plot to be the game changer as we'll. pigs come though and the deer vanish.

Yes sir, Ive never seen a pig share. Im going to try to bait the squirrels up to the house so we can have a talk.

It's too much if it washes the seed away or if it packs the seed down too deep in the dirt.

What did you plant? This late in the game im thinking Rye or oats because they are the best hope of popping up before opening weekend if thats possible. These deer rut way too early in Brazoria county. If you dont bow hunt, you miss the main rut.
