Has anybody ever had their dog shed trained? Was thinking about doing it with my puppy didn't know if it's worth it.

All I did was use antlers instead of chew toys, and throw items for her to retrieve. At 6 months, she found her own first shed at the ranch... been snooping around for 'em ever since. She found half a dozen during Spring Turkey season. -
I would like to train my dog as well. I know you can buy a kit at Cabelas. will try that out this year.Comment

I trained my lab and wife's english cocker to shed hunt. I didn't buy any of the crap they try to sell you. I took the newest sheds I had layin' around played fetch A BUNCH. Then I'd hide them around and reward them when they found them. As we/they found new sheds I'd use them for training. Its pretty intuitive. Make them like to find them.Comment
