Good monday morning fellas,
Over the weekend, my good friend Jessica inquired about a teacup piglet and I was more than a little curious about her odd request. Come to find out, Western Wishes has a little huntress in need of a little pampering.
Meet Morgan, a feisty, yet soft hearted thirteen year old, who was born with a severe form of cystic fibrosis and received her first double-lung transplant when she was 8 years old. On her 5 year 'lungaversary' in May, she completed a 5K with only 30 percent lung capacity because she wanted to give hope to other kids with cystic fibrosis. Morgan contracted a fungal infection in early summer and was care flighted to Houston where she was in critical condition and her body began rejecting her lungs. Morgan is now stable enough to be on the transplant list and knows what a blessing each breath is.
She is a true Western Wishes girl; she loves everything outdoors including
hunting and riding. Because she's no longer allowed to ride or have a dog,
her doctors have cleared her to have a pet pig and Morgan is so excited!
Western Wishes welcomes, and is thankful for, any help acquiring Morgan's teacup piglet and all donations are tax deductible. Because she will not be well enough to go home for hunting season this year, we have requested a day pass from the hospital with hopes of finding persons with a hunting lease in the Houston area to give Morgan a special version of 'deer camp' this year.
I know that this is the busiest time of year for most of you, but I wanted to see what we could get accomplished. I am going to contact Texastinypigs near Waco and see about getting the piggie. Morgan has to stay real close to the hospital but needs to have a hunt this season.
TBH'ers around Houston let me know what our options are about a hunt.
