Can the GS shed some light on hunting semitar-horned Oryx? I read they're placed on the endangered species list but people still hunt them. There's a lot of conflicting info out there. There is an opportunity to hunt one but I want to follow the rules...

Uh yeah. Good eatin and a beautiful mount. Be prepared to shoot about 4 bolts through it. Those things are tough as nails. If a 30.06 heart shot won't down one, a crossbow might have a tough time.Comment

They aren't that tough. Seen an oryx killed with a 17 Rem and I killed mine with my muzzleloader.Originally posted by jsuggs View PostComment

I don't have any experience with crossbows, but my normal bow setup with a 100gr slick trick magnum was more than adequate. I shot mine at somewhere between 25-30 yards and it was down in under 50 yards and dead in seconds.
