    OT..Internet Explorer

For you tech savvy guys. I can't view a site that needs flashplayer on IE. I have clicked the link to update several times and it doesn't do crap. What can I try different?

    Thanks in advance.

You should be able to go to www.adobe.com and install Flash player from there. That's all I've ever had to do to get it to work.

Better suggestion is to switch to Mozilla Firefox, then do the download from there. Much more secure from uglies on the web. Don't know about IE and Flasplayer, sorry.

I did download Mozilla and got the flashplayer. But, I still can't get it to work with IE. Not sure what to do.

              Try this.

In IE click on "Tools", "Internet Options". Select the "Programs" tab. Down at the bottom click on the "Manage Add Ons" button.

Scroll down list of add ons until you find "Shockwave Flash Object" and highlight it. Down at the bottom left it will say whether it has been enabled or disabled. Enable it if it isn't already.

If it is already enabled then I suspect it may be a security setting in IE. Also you didn't say which version of IE you are running. If you're still running version 6 then I would suggest that you upgrade to IE7.

              Hope this helps.

get Mozilla Firefox. You'll like it a ton better.

Firefox, start using it and you'll wonder why you didn't before.

once you upgrade to IE 7, flash is dead in it, even if you downgrade back to 6.0 like I tried.. MS really farked up their IE this last time around... I aint figured it out yet and lots of "solutions" if you google the problem of flash not playing in IE 7.

I use mozilla for the video type flash sites

When you download the file to your computer are you actually clicking the exe file that downloaded and installing it? The reason I ask is a guy at work was going through the same thing but not clicking the downloaded icon and installing. He thought it automatically updated.
