Yes those functionalities should work, but you won't be able to email or text them to anyone. Unless you get another apple prod and then I guess you can use iMessage to text

I would just load the pics or videos to my computer. Thanks for the info! I've got a couple of bow mounts (one bought, one homemade) for using my phone to record my shot. The problem is that I am always using my phone while hunting to read/get online and it's too hard to mount my phone with a deer 15yds away. This way I can leave my iPhone 4 on my bow, and use it just like you would use a go pro.

Yes, yes, and yes. You can even still make phone calls with your old phone if you have a Wi-Fi signal.
