    It's been a long day...

    Nothing bad. not a rant.

I had planned to take off work today basically to burn some PTO, and maybe get some seed planted for deer. Been hearing a lot of talk about serious rain possible for today and the next 4-5 days. If I got it planted, great. If not, maybe next weekend. I had also previously scheduled a haircut for 1:30. Also had promised to meet a guy to the DMV to sign over a title for a motorcycle at 2:30. Since there was a very good chance for rain, I didn't purchase all of the seed I needed and was afraid to pick up corn for feeders in my truck.

I decided to take my daughter, 8 years old, to school. Drove 10 miles to Medina and Dropped her off at 7:25. Decided to have my favorite Spanish omelet at Keese BBQ. Then stopped by a buddy's house for to chat with him for about 30 minutes. Drove 10 miles to the lease and checked the tractor out before starting. All good, just needed to switch out the shredder for the disc. Got to the first field about 8:30. Took about 2 hours to disc up good. Now 10:30. Sky is clear, with a few clouds here and there. On to the next field. Took 2 hours disc it up. Now 12:30. I'm 20 minutes from Bandera, so I need to leave pretty quick. Also need to stop for lunch. Some clouds are starting to build. Stop on way thru Medina for lunch at Keese BBQ. Have to swing a few miles out of the way to pick up seed spreader at my house. I get to haircut at 1:15. Barber is ready to go. Good. Takes 20 minutes. I'm still early for meeting at DMV. Clouds still building. I swing by feed at or and pick up seed, 400 pounds of corn, and a bale of alfalfa. It's almost 2:00. Head to DMV and wait in parking lot. The guy I'm meeting shows up at 2:15. Takes a few minutes to sign all paperwork and I'm off. Head back to lease . Go to first feeder and start lowering it. It's still heavy. Oped the lid and found it's still 3/4 full. I was planning on putting 200 pounds in it. Found out wire to solar panel was broken. Battery is dead. I will have to come back again, maybe tomorrow. I put a bag and a half in it, and put half of the alfalfa in the hay feeder. Clouds getting darker. Drive across ranch to other feeder. Turns out I'm ahed of schedule on filling feeders, and can only put 100 pounds in it.
Drive back to barn and get tractor and head back to first field. Filled seed spreader( holds about 20 pounds) and started spreading. Seed is a Fall mix with oats, winter wheat, and cow peas. Area being planted is about 700' by 50'. Got all of the oats mix put out and back on the tractor to cover it with a drag. I had also picked up some chicory, alfalfa, and another small tiny seed which did not need to be covered with a drag, just spread it by hand. On the the next field. Clouds get somewhat dark now. It's 3:30. Hum, if I hurry, I can still make the Crossfit work out at 5:30. Drove to the last field and filled the seed spreader again. This field is smaller- about 300'x50'. Got the oats spread. Got back on tractor to cover with drag. Done. Oops, still have some chickory, and alfalfa seed to out out by hand. Done. Need to put switch disc back to shredder. Done. Least there at 4:20. I can still make my work out. Hit the road. Called my wife on the way to the house. She said it souring down rain. I had to stop and put 300 pounds of corn in the back seat of my truck. The first bag I put in my truck busted and spilled about 1 pound of corn on my back seat. Done. 2 miles up the road we hit the rain. Get to the house and change. My daughter wants to go to play with the other kids while we work out. Ok. Drive back to Bandera (about 15 miles) and get there right on time. It's lightly sprinkling, but stops long enough for us to workout ( we do this in the driveway/ yard). For some reason, I'm kinda tired. Get ready to leave about 6:45 and my daughter asked if we can invite the host family to DQ for dinner. Sure. Drive back to town, eat and visit for a while. Finally got home at 8:30.
Sorry to put y'all thru this long read.

Sounds rough. I just woke up at 4am and finally got off work at 930pm. Boring.

Hope you don't plan out every day like that. You must wear a watch?
