    When do the acorns drop?

    Hunting in Milano county just outside of Rockdale and was curious when the acorns will typically fall and I can expect to see the deer leave the feeders?
    Then, when do the deer typically quit eating the acorns and go back to corn? First freeze?

    Hunted south texas all my life so not familiar with this at all.

    Thanks again

          Normally it's the last of September into October but this drought has all things screwed up.

            They always drop at the worst time no matter where I hunt at.

              Good question. It tends to vary 2-4 weeks. The ones below are BURR and downright huge at a farm I hunt in Kansas. Last time they fell 4-5 years ago their were deer everyone in that oak flat. I definitely need to be their when they start to fall......guess I need to call my buddy to check the progress........good reminder thread!!!

                  Fall=now
                  Feeders=after freeze or after a bunch of rain and they start to rot

                    Hope so

                    Focused on getting the gf set up on a buck this year, got 2-3 potentials around the 110-115 range.

                    It would have to be a pretty big one to get me to sling a arrow, however I got some pigs to take out
