Don't touch it with your bare hands. I found one of these in a wood chip pile a couple years ago. I touched it and touched my face and it was like pepper spray. Those things suck

I thought a walking stick was different looking. The ones i had seen before looked more like a stick

There are several "walking sticks"... this one is indeed pretty toxic... even dangerous to some.
