Changing gun safe from dial to electronic lock

    Anyone ever do it?

Is it a DIY project or does it require a locksmith?

I have a browning safe and their website says it's possible .

I'm not sure about switching one out but I love my electronic lock on my Browning.

The electronic dial would just make my wife and I use it more often. My wife has jewelry she changes out from day to day and I always get on her to just throw it in the safe. Now days if people break in they just take small stuff they can put in their pocket and move on.

I think SG is the brand of the lock.

I paid to have mine done. It didn't look too hard but he does it on a daily basis.

Is you go electronic and get an AMSEC lock.

I would leave the dial, they rarely break. If the electronic lock fails, expect $500 for a locksmith to drill the safe. We use electronic locks on ATM and they are secure, but we also have to drill them all the time. The electron lock we use is Mas Hamlton, one of the best out there.
