Wanted to take a quick minute to share some of my personal good news - because, although it's a somber day for all of us, I feel like sharing good news is always helpful. For me and mine, yesterday/today were good days.
I moved out to Texas with my fiance in early June. She's in the medical field and was offered a really prestigious internship out here in Dallas, and naturally she took it. I picked up and left my government job to follow - left home and a lot of other things behind. My chief worry out here was finding a job; I'd never been here, never really explored the area, nothing. I found a position with Caterpillar that interested me, and I applied. After several interviews and getting to know the folks, I was called yesterday with an offer. I took it, and today I go in to fill out forms and take my required drug test and whatnot.
I'm really excited about this because of the relief it provides to me. I've been a good Sammy Homemaker for the last couple of months, but I needed work.
MOST importantly...I need to buy myself some piece of gear to celebrate (don't tell my lady I said that..
)
