Possible bred doe in Central Texas ?

In the first pic, look at the farthest doe. This doe appears to be close to having a fawn. Has anyone ever heard of wild deer in central Texas ( Brownwood area ) having one this late ?

I've heard they only keep their spots about 3 months. So this one would have spots in December.

That is pretty accurate. We had one on a place in Tom Green Co that was spotted on the rump in December. I'll dig through my laptop and see if I can find pics. Seems like it was Dec. 7th but don't hold me to that date.

Assuming the fawn is ready to drop, she would have been bred in mid to late Feb. Very interesting. See if you can find any distinguishing marks on her and keep a close eye on the cams.

I seen a buck running a doe 2 yrs ago in mid Feb, now assuming everything went as planned, she would have dropped about now.

If a doe doesn't breed in her first cycle about a month later she'll come into season again, so yes, it's very possible for you to have a bred doe this late in the year.

Gestation is about 200 days....whitetails have been known to properly celebrate Valentine's day!

That being said she doesn't look big enough to be 100% carrying for sure - may just be fat.

They have to evolve to compete with Axis deer

We still have does giving birth in Knox County.

I saw a couple day old fawn in early September last year near my home in East Texas. I think it happens everywhere.
