    States that ban feeding/baiting

Why do they sell deer corn and every other deer candy we see on TV? I'm in Va this year and its illegal during season and HIGHLY discouraged outside of season. Went to BassPro and Gander Mountain, they sell all the stuff that is illegal to use. Doesn't make sense to me.

Department regulation makes it illegal to place or distribute food, salt, or minerals to feed or attract deer or elk:
    •from September 1 through January 3 statewide.
•year-round in Buchanan, Clarke, Dickenson, Frederick, Shenandoah, Warren, and Wise counties (including the cities and towns within).
•in any city, town, or county during any deer or elk hunting season.
•Nor, upon written notification by Department personnel, shall any person continue to place or distribute any food, salt, mineral or similar substances for any purpose if the placement of these materials results in the attraction of and/or feeding of deer. No part of this regulation shall be construed to restrict bonafide agronomic plantings (including wildlife food plots) or distribution of food to livestock.

Yep, they sell it at Bass Pro in CA and you cannot bait ANY Game animal.

SD, I dont think a corn feeder would work where I hunt. There is already corn everywhere. Deer would just look at it like "who dumped this corn on the ground?"

Mississippi doesn't allow "baiting" but they'll run em in the ground with dogs.

No baiting deer in Iowa, at least where I hunt.

In Virginia it could be because its next door to NC which does allow baiting.

I understand the reason Va doesn't allow it. They are concerned with disease.

I compare corn sales in non-baiting states to stores selling pot. It's a set up.

In Pa if your caught baiting with corn, apples, etc its a hefty fine and loss of license.

Those states that ban that are idiots.

As far as disease. You ever seen a deer put an acorn on chinette????

It's different when 30 deer are fighting over a pile of corn in 4 feet of snow. Disease is a real problem. But I know you know it all

I could understand a more fair chase hunt for states that don't have large populations of game. Six tags are issues initially in Va and then you can also purchase bonus tags. Again, it doesn't make sense to me.
