    Interview Question

I will be interviewing for an internal supervisor position with my current employer. Should I dress up or wear regular work attire?

    Thanks.

Dress for the position you want, not the position you have.

It's always best to dress nice when interviewing. Most of the time the people who will interview you will tell you to dress casual if that's what they want. If they didn't let you know I would dress up.

Dressing up shows you care enough to look your best and respect the process. NO ONE ever said "I would have hired him but he just looked to professional"

                Good luck!

A&M ring and the rest is irrelevant.

When I interview management candidates, appearance is important. Not everything, but important.

Really our whole team wears work khakis and polos, we do a lot of field work sometimes on a short notice. But a suit sounds like the best bet.

As Barney would say " suit up" or at least a sports coat since you already wear slacks

Dress slacks, nice long sleeve shirt, and a tie......hint not a clip on lol.
If its a pretty high position then I wouldn't hesitate to suit up.

Every time I've interviewed, I've worn a button down shirt, slacks, and a nice tie. I don't put on the jacket, usually, because of the nature of the job (and the fact that we're located three quarters of a mile from the surface of the sun). If you go that route and you're well groomed, you'll look professional but not aloof. The idea that you need to be better dressed than the interviewer doesn't always stick, because it can make you look pretentious.
