    Cheap Bows

What are some of the cheaper bows (compound, I am not good enough for Trad yet) and are they comparable to the higher end models. I am in the process of buying a house and land, plus my bank roll ain't all that big to begin with, but would like to get a new setup soon. I went to Triple Edge a couple weeks ago and was told my draw length is 31 1/5- 32". The bows that I have been using are 29". They were all hand me downs and free or very cheap, so I have been making do with what I had. I would like to get my own setup soon, and just thought I would draw off the wellspring of knowledge that is TBH. Thanks in advance for the help.

Take in everyone's advice then go take a trip through the TBH classifieds. I've gotten 3 great deals off of there.

You do NOT want cheap. You want inexpensive. Take a walk through the classified here. TBH sellers do not buy junk and do not pass on junk. For the most part. But seriously. There are quite a few folks here selling bows that would fit your price range. Good Luck.

Best bet is to just pick up one here on TBH maybe a few years old. Lots of good bows out there now days.

your hardest thing is going to be finding a bow that can go to that draw length, there is not a lot of bows that do, so good luck finding one used

Yeah, I have kept my eyes open on the classifieds, but I want to make sure to get one that can support my drawlength. That has been a problem, the guy at Triple Edge told me he had one new that he could get me for about $300 or $400, but that it wasn't a well known brand

GB, if your draw length is TRULY 31.5 to 32", you must be one huge man! lol Never heard of anyone needing one that long. I think mine goes to 31" (diamond outlaw, by bowtech). 330 fps and is smoooooooth. LOVE IT! $550 brand new. My brother just bought a PSE (310 fps I think) for around $350-$400 brand new. Shot it yesterday and it's pretty smooth and shoots well too. Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

Agreed with buying quality used over cheap new. Bows seem to lose their value faster than cars, $20k will buy you a 2011 F-150 or new Kia Optima, which would you prefer?

For $400 here you can probably find a 3 year old bow that was $800 new, with $400 worth of accessories, case, arrows included with it.

I would have your draw length double checked, most guys up to 6'6" only shoot 30" draw, keep in mind your release will effectively shorten it as well.

The diamond infinite edge is 349.99 at bass pro or cabelas adjustable from 5lb to 70lb and 13" to 30" so it's extremely versatile. Also at gander mountain

Maybe a longer D loop for your draw length also of you're having problems finding one that long.

I am 76" from wing tip to wing tip. I am 6'5" tall, but a knuckle dragger I agree on the quality used over cheap new, I was just concerned about getting the right draw length on a used bow. I have a Hoyt and a Mathews, but both are too small. I have the Hoyt in for new strings right now, and the Mathews needs new limbs. I may try the longer loop when I get the Hoyt back, maybe it will get me through this season and I can save enough to get something quality in my size.
