    What do y'all think?

I got an email from one of the ranch managers and he attached the pic below. The blue strips are 300 ft wide for ag improvements. It was said that they already started clearing, but will start back up after season. The big red circle is roughly my spot and the 2 small circles are the 2 setups I have off that sendero.

I won't be able to head to the ranch to see if they cleared on my spot yet so I'm not trying to worry too much about it until I check it out. I just hope they haven't cleared anything on my spot or close to me.

Of course I find it convenient that they tell us in an email a few days after our second half of payments were due... Some of the other guys have already gotten off the lease since this summer they've cleared a couple thousand acres around the camp (South of pic below) and a couple of guys spots already.

Knowing they were going to be clearing this much and starting some of it before season it would of been a big thing to weigh before making my second payment and possibly getting off and hunt elsewhere. I saw they tweaked some of the rules also, and the one that stuck out to me was instead of being able to have 2 setups on your spot they put we're only allowed 1 setup. Our spots are like 1k acres to begin with and I didn't really like the fact that we had a limit to setups on our spots.

This is the second year I'm on this lease and the first big lease I've been on so I'm not really sure if I should be concerned.

I'm still unsure if they cleared my spot, but I'll see in a week or so. (Knock on wood!)

I don't think t will end up being a big deal.
If your set up is cleared looks like you'll just have to move it some to get back into the cover.

I'm hoping it won't be a big deal. Just glad that he said that they stopped for now. I'll find out the situation when I get my butt down there.

I read on another thread where someone went to their lease and they found all their feeders and stands piled up. That would be messed up...

      Hoping for the best though.

If your stuff is damaged that would be another deal all together.
As far as the clearing goes be prepared to be overwhelmed at the sight of it regardless if it has or has not touched your area. It will look very different and probably bring you a lot of worry. I was blow away one day a few years ago when I went to my lease and every cedar tree was gone. Place looked wide open and it concerned me. Turns out it was much better in the long run.

Clearing and thinning always helps. The first year is a real tough go. It took two years to get any horns near my spot. Does we're thin but there. Three years later I am covered up in venison. As the previous post said, the landscape is hard to get used to. They actually found a 3 wheeler near my spot. It was a 1985 if that tells you how long it had been there.

Clearing does not bother the deer. They have been clearing and thining on our lease for3 years now and last year we had a supper year.
I saw deer good bucks walking through still smoking clear cut burns.

Thanks for the positive input. I saw what they cleared by the camp site and a couple of the guys spots and they stripped their spots bare though... Those guys packed up and moved on. It was..... shocking to see at first though.... We shall see when I head down to see what's what.

Well just got another email that was a reply to me asking that they've stopped until after season.....

He clarified that they've started on the right side of that pic and sweeping left. They're going to continue clearing until they're complete and won't root until after season..... :/

Well....... If this jacks up movement on my spot I have a buddy that's on the other side of the ranch that will let me hunt on his spot.
