Been putting in for the Archery hunt for 3 years. 2nd time my group has been chosen. Looking forward to a great hunt. Getting a friend that has never bow hunted before involved. Really excited.

How does that work? You get a certain time/section to hunt, or what? Do you get to set feeders, do they have them, or how are you scouting out your sets? Interested, thanks for your response.Comment

We drew a rifle hunt there a few years ago. Just a weekend for that one. Not a lot of deer, but they're there. More whitetail than mule deer, unfortunately. TONS of hogs. Ridiculous amounts of hogs.Comment

I drew the rifle tag and decided to bowhunt it back in 2009. I liked that there were only 4 tags in the rifle season as opposed to the number they give out for archery. Down side is that the draw odds are worse for the rifle hunt and it was a 3 day hunt opposed to what was a 3 week hunt for the archery tag. I hunted some trails off of one of the food plots and shot this deer:
Not even close to my best buck but I was dang proud of getting him on a 3 day private land hunt.

Draw hunt. No feeders. They plant wheat. Pick an area. Hand corn and hunt. Many more hunts coming up for draw. Look up hunting Alan Henry. All you have to do is apply for the draws.Comment
