    Security cameras.

Looking for ideas on security cameras for my grandparents on some property they own out in the sticks. I would be installing it and ordering it all for them.

They are looking at game cameras but I am wondering how hard it would be to get a real camera set up or what game cameras I need to look at. Budget of 300 bucks and 2 cameras in 2 locations would be required. Any tips or directions I need to look in? Also electricity is not available at either so would need to be solar powered.

Well, you might can do it with game cameras because they will have the SD card built in to record all the action. With regular security cameras you would need a DVR to record the activity and unless there are some Walmart, Sam's club , or internet deal,it would be next to impossible with the prescribed budget and no electricity.

I haven't dealt with regular cameras before only game cams so wasn't sure how all that worked.

So what game cameras would you suggest for just general surveillance?

Well unfortunately, you have lots to consider (I've been in corp security plus intel for about 18 years). Do you have power, a computer or workstation that you can network the cameras to, what and where do you want to look at as well as mounting cameras? Tough to get a system for $300 or under unless it's a cheap radio shack system made for indoors....

Try securitycamerasdirect.com for some ideas. There's pros and cons to IP vs analog but IP is def. the way to go if you have a computer and internet. PM me if you have questions / I know enough to be dangerous....

No computer would be near by, and no power is available out there. Basically just a shed out in the middle of bfe, but someone has been cutting the lock on it and taking stuff so they are wanting to get a camera put up.

Sounds like you need a covert set up to text in real time / let local LE or sheriff know that way maybe they can respond....
