    Nikon Range Finder question

Bought a new one last week at Cabela's and took it to CCR this morning for a 3D outing. Had problems with it on the black targets, pigs and bears, it would not give me a reading everytime, maybe 25%. All other color targets were just fine. Is it just maybe that black will not reflect the laser beam back. Or, am I going to hear that I should have never bought a Nikon and I got what I paid for?!

No, Nikons are fine. All of them are sensitive to a degree on what they will give readings on. Light conditions matter too. I don't think you should have a lot of trouble on targets of most any kind or color that are pretty close though...

Sometimes rangefinders have a hard time reading the black targets. I have a Nikon and it will not read every once in awhile. Hit something near it.
