The only issue with premixed bags is that you can't plant everything at the proper depth. Clover has to be planted much shallower than the others. Basically just broadcast on top of the dirt. If you plant clover too deep it won't come up.

I bought a 50 pound mix yesterday at Justin seed for $17.00. I was looking at his books and noticed that they sold Austrian winter cow peas, alfalfa and vetch among many other seeds by the pound. I bought some of these as well for the small plot at the house. It sure makes it nice as alfalfa seed is very expensive and I have never needed a 50 lb bag. I am going to put these three seeds out with the mixture as well tomorrow. Good luck everyone!

I tilled up my plots yesterday going to spread seed and and lightly drag, hopefully most will come up. I am over seeding and planting fall pea's with it as well. we shall see.

what are the percentages of each. Rye is probably the biggest I would think.

You should do well! Most of the time seed companies make their mixes with comparable sized seeds so they will come up. The clover needs to be shallower and the winter peas deeper as it is a bigger seed. Good Luck!!!
