Sorry folks totally missed this post. I think were booked up to September on weekdays and May'ish on weekdays. My father in law and I operate the ranch.
Hal is a jerk and I have hunted with him once if you could call it hunting. It was a zoo shake a corn bag and the starving pigs come running. I would strongly recomend spending your money elswere. No recomendations for close to houston, mabey Matt Family orchord. Fair price and wild animals, owner is very nice.
I know the ranch manager for huntnshoot, Howie, from Texas Boars forum and he seems like a good guy. Lots of folks have posted on Texas Boars.com that they have had a good hunt with him.
Matt family orchard is a good place to hunt hogs. Mr. Matt is a great guy and his place is cool. He has feeders setup with light sets on the feeder barrels shining down on the corn and all tripods or platforms are 20 to 25 yards. It is a good setup. Its 75 dollars for 24 hours and all the hogs you can shoot. Bow only.
Bryan is right, Rick is a great guy to deal with, and is very easy going. He is a member of LSBA, and really wants to support the sport. I do not think he has anything in season right now in the orchard, so you should have the place to your self.
I would suggest giving him a call. If you have any questions, just shoot me an email and I can answer them. I have done some work for Rick in the past, so I know the Orchard pretty well.
You might look into Caney Creek it's not far from you. I went to taxi school with the guy who own's and run's the place. Top notch place and you can bow hunt or gun hunt.
