Lab does not like me anymore

So we recently moved which stressed home out big time. I have been traveling a lot and just came home from a 9 day trip. He acts like my daughter did when she was 2 and I'd leave for a week. Total cold shoulder. Been home since Saturday and he wants nothing to do with me. I can deal with my wife turning cold but Nothing more heartbreaking than a man'a dog turning on him.

I feel your pain. I did 6 months at a time doing deployments thankfully im done with that. Hopefully he comes around soon for you.

Next time you take a short trip, bring him along. Luckily, my lab hasn't done that to me with my trips. However, the big test will be over the next 3 years, I'll be gone 9-10 months a year. Hope it gets better for you

Ha! I deal with it weekly and she became my daughters dog which I'm cool with. Then she attached to my wife.. Come too find out she is giving her table scraps which I would never allow .. Oh well. Here is what I have learned go play ball or go shoot your bow and let him tag along and cold shoulder is gone instantly! Craziest thing is I can come home in the middle of the night she shoots out of her kennel and runs to my bed side and lays down which she never does its straight to the door.. Usually. It's amazing how smart these **** dogs are!

If you travel, be prepared. My kid is 15 now and I started traveling hard when she was 6 months. Big trade off. Travel = all the money for with wife and daughter to have and do anything they want. But when she was little, she really showed me how much she hated it when I was gone.

Just tried a 2 year experiment in a different industry staying in Texas but making far less money. Went back to my original career 6 months ago and all feels normal again until my dog pulled this crap. It actually does hurt. He also dug a f'n huge hole in the new yard which promptly filled with water the first time the sprinkers ran. When he goes out he plops his fat but right down in it. Just like a little kid wanting attention. He's 6 and had just really become a mature dog past the destruction stage.
