So all we hear about it ISIS, but when the POTUS mentions them, he mentions ISIL. Have you been wondering what the difference is between them?
ISIS is the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
ISIL is the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
The Levant is a much greater region that typically generically references most of the mid east often including Cyprus, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
I am scratching my head as to why the POTUS would change the name in this way. And why now? Can anyone shed any greater light on this?
