As far as the poaching situation goes, I'm very familiar with poachers. In 2006 I was working 1 section down in Kennedy County with a similair scenario. It didn't take long to take the poachers into custody after we had them on video trespassing onto the property, lowering the feeder barrels, pouring poison into the feeder barrels, raising the barrels back up then spotlight hunting at night on the property.

Now here is where the story turns into legend/myth. I'm not sure if there is any truth to this portion as I am in no way a witness or a participant. Somehow the poachers were caught the following friday night doing the same thing like clockwork. They ended up being stripped naked, and tied to an old dead tree. Somehow GameWardens and the Sherrif's Department found them on Sunday Evening tied naked to the tree, sunburnt, dehydrated, with their weapons unloaded and laying about 10ft from them.

I know for a fact that the men, were taken into custody, and never showed back up, and that I had the privelage of catching the trespassing, poisoning, and spotlighting on film. As far as that other stuff, I believe it is a legend/myth.

What ranch is it Brandon, my place is not to far from there? Videographer, if you enjoy seeing a ton of free ranging animals you will love it. This is where I have hunted my whole life and have taken many nice animals. Even though it is hill country there are still some really nice whitetails out there. i dont know exactlt what the ranch was called but i know it was a family seperated 1,000 odd acres...

i was hunting on a 200 acre property with a house,barn,well and plenty of clearcut land to hunt on..

i saw some huge bucks that were shot there [mounts,piks]...some of the biggest bucks ive ever seen...



i just know the main gate is flag colored..

i should be goin back in that area in a couple of weeks so ill take some piks

Joseph, I hunt down the road in Sabinal (the one that takes you to Utopia from Sabinal) and have been on that lease for 23yrs. Big Smith used to hunt right next to me. My cousin's grandparents own land in Liverpool and he has killed a 150 class buck off it and mostly takes 130-140 class there
