I wanted to see what different kinds of cover scent we all use and to what extent we use it? I know everyone probably uses a huge variety of things but what's your favorite brand? Also how many people use scent blocker deodorant, shampoo and body wash, and also scent blocker laundry detergent? I'm thinking of trying a vanilla spray over some original scent blocker, although I'm still kinda new to this I don't think it could hurt. Anyways more specifically if you use deodorant, shampoo, or wash your clothes in scent blocker, what brand do you use and how do you like it?

Take this for what it's worth. I grew up back in the boonies of N MN. (Google up Lake of the Woods County) and you'll get the picture. We didn't have TV, Radio, or for the folks that lived in some of the towns running water. A lot of the folks up there now, thanks to satelittes, have cable tv. Hunting, fishing and raising gardens was our major source of food. If we didn't grow it, catch it, or kill it, we usually didn't eat it. We raised chickens and the money from the eggs went to buy flouer and sugar for cooking and canning. Took me until 20 or so to figure out there's a better way to do this. Joined the Navy and never looked back. Took the wife up there to show her off to the inlaws about 1970 and haven't been back since.
There really wasn't any scent covers/hiders back then (50's and early 60's). What we did was just build a smudge fire in the snow drift. Sit down wind and let the smoke permeat our clothes. We really didn'ttake that may baths or shower either. Bath tubs and showers were not common items in a home. You would think deer would be afraid of smoke, but not so. Doesn't seem to bother them. I think we sometimes tend to ove r analys things. So, fire up the smoker, throw a brisket on it, stand down wind and soak up the smoke. Just do it in your hunting clothes.
Huntng and fishing in TX is a true blessing. Things we do here would get a person locked up in many states. Trot Lines illegal, fishing with more than one pole illegal. more than one hook on a line, illegal, deer feeders, illegal .... well you get the idea.

Haha I'm gonna try vanilla over my regular secant blocker this year. And that's generally what I figured, Indians didn't have scent blocker but they also didn't shower with shampoo and body wash! I also now wash my hunting clothes in up scented detergent and taking about letting them air dry outside now. Thanks for sharing keep em comin. Anyone use the scent blocker gear? $180 for a jacket and I think about $150 for some pant hahah

I generally spray down real good with scent killer, and apply evercalm herd in a stick to the soles of my boots. As far as deodorant and shampoos, I don't use any when hunting. I will take a shower without any soap, and wash my clothes with all free and clear.
It might not be the best system, but it works for me.
