    Age and score

This is a buck that we haven't seen before. What are the GS thoughts? He's not our highest scoring buck, but thinking mature....

Can't say for sure... Don't look mature to me. Not enough information from this pic to score very well, but would say first impression would be 20's and 3 1/2 max.

Mature...the belly sag and developed brisket are dead giveaways IMO.

Their belly sags when there is that much green to eat as well. Call it grass belly...Not always going to mean a mature buck. I'm with the 3 year old crowd!!

That's why I also mentioned the brisket being so pronounced. You don't see that in younger deer IMO. I see a 4.5 year old deer.

EDIT: My mistake guys...I stand corrected as I was trying to give Rack Ranch the benefit of the doubt on age. I really think the deer is 5.5 and not 4.5. I don't really consider 4.5 mature either....just not "young".

Yes, I know...crawfishing on this one...

I Think with the head being in the lowered position it sags the hide there more than it really is but could buy 4.5. I don't call that mature, I guess it depends on where you hunt? Brings a good question to mind, what age is mature?

We would consider maturity at 5.5. That's what I was thinking, but he may be 4.5.

Just doesn't have the head of a mature buck to me. Looks young in the face and just not enought skull there for me to go any older. You going to put him on the management buck list?

Yup. This time of year, can't judge by skin/muscle definition... got to go with structure and this one is not mature.

Nothing says he's Mature to Me. I would go with 4.5 until you get more Pictures
