Why won't my Browning pump eject the second shell?

I just got a great deal on a browning pump. I broke it down and cleaned it thoroughly. Took it out this morning and it started not ejecting the spent second shell. It locks up. It takes a little tweaking to get it to rack back eject the second shell and load the third. Could this be a weak spring? Ya'lls thoughts?

What kind of ammo? My pump does not like the low brass shells at all and does the same thing.

Could be dirty, rusted or pitted chamber. It makes the shell fit tighter than it should. May need cleaning or polishing. Or it could be extractor, extractor spring, or ejector.

As mentioned above if you have crappy shells that can play into it. But any pump should work fine with low brass if you rack the slide properly.

If the inside of the chamber shines like a mirror when you inspect it with a flashlight and you can rub your finger on it and its super smooth then its probably the other parts I mentioned. Good luck, its terrible when your gun turns into a single shot while hunting.

I had a BPS do the same thing. It was an older model and he extractor was worn.

Usually a worn extractor or weak extractor spring.

Must be worn extractor, my BPS ejects any shells in there so dont think its brass height.

If your "brass" is silver then they are aluminum. I hate aluminum shells because they have a tendency to expand more than brass and create cycling issues. I don't mind them in O/Us....

There was a thread about this about 5 years ago and a gunsmith chimed in. It is a known problems with browning pumps. Has to do with the "brass" casing swelling and getting stuck. As it cools it opens easily. I forgot what he said caused it. I do know that several folks took them their guns and he fixed then for a pretty hefty fee. Mine does it but its not worth spending the money to fix it to me.
