You have to set it up with the bow on a press. It's a timing issue. Another trick is you don't need to use the entire length of rip cord. A good archery shop should be able to help you with the timing setup.

Was your friends shop a bow shop? If so why didn't he fix it?

If you have the release cord tied in...just run it through but don't tie it. Draw the bow with an arrow knocked. Mark the string where it stops.

If you have the release cable in the little football with a set screw. Loosen the screw slightly and draw the bow with an arrow knocked. Tighten the screw back and check clearance.

If the fletching is still hitting..shorten it in small increments till the arrow clears.

No press needed for a QAD

Unless you serve in the chord

I had a issue with mine today. It broke. Noticed my vanes hitting and flying crazy today after shooting so good at ccr sat. The elite one is way over rotated. That is it cocked. Notice how the line has moved. It completely changed my rest. I think it has to do with the tension in the spring. They have a lifetime warranty so I am calling QAD tomorrow and having them send me a new one.

I made a draw board to check mine a while back, when I thought it was touching. I read that as you let the string down, the arrow should move right at an inch (iirc) past the riser before the rest starts to lower back to the rest position. If it's moving more than an inch I could see the cord not being tight enough.

The cord was tight we checked it once we found that the rest was making the slapping noise even when it's off it doesn't want to fall properly
