My dream whitetail hunt... I need y'all's help

Ok, so I've done a lot of searching on here, but for some reason I couldn't find the details I am looking for. I have a few questions for you folks that hunt out of state.

My dream whitetail is a big Kansas or Missouri buck. I am already putting aside here and there in order to pool up enough money to go on a nice hunt in 5 years or so. I want to do a week long archery hunt and harvest a big mature deer.

My problem is that I cannot find out exactly how to start the process of making sure I can get a license and tag. I think it is a draw system, but how does that work? Does the buck tag come with the license? Do I have to put in for a license and a tag? Also, what are the costs for a decent ranch hunt up there with a good chance of getting a buck with my bow?

Missouri is over the counter I believe. Unlimited doe tags for 20-25$ each. Don't know how much the out of state license is though.

I put in for Iowa as well. I have drawn twice in 6 years. Killed a 182" and a 152". That being said they aren't under every tree and you may come home with zero. If you want a guarantee I would do texas high fence. I hunted with tales of the hunt/Aaron Volkmar. First trip I hunted 9 days and second trip I killed on day 6 of 7. I always pay for extra days. Most guys hunt 5 days and I would say success that I have seen is 50% on bucks 140" and better. Look at the Iowa draw. I use cabelas tags to apply but I apply for 20+ total tags every year.

I've not looked recently, but from what I have seen before most places run anywhere from $1500-$3000 depending on time of the year. I would say the typical midwest outfitter would run 20-40% sucess.

Tags are still over the counter but doe tags are no longer unlimited for most of the counties. most are around 2-3 doe tags/hunter.

Easy to draw "most" units in KS.....then just buy your hunting license.

Yeah I believe it depends on where you are. I was really close to getting on a nice lease up there I just knew I couldn't make the drive often enough. Awesome country though and very affordable to hunt for the most part.
