Used bow to a Jr hunter -FREE

I got this idea from Legacy Tx

Last nite I snared a used Bowtech Diamond bow on ebay and am in the process of rigging it with all the proper bells and whistles.Since everyone here on the TBH has been so cool about welcoming me and giving helpful advice I want to keep the karma going.

I will give away my current bow to a jr hunter for FREE as soon as my new bow arrives which should be by the end of the week. Its an old PSE Elite series but it is currently set at a 28 in pull and has been set at 62lb pull by a local pro shop. it has a 5 arrow quiver, drop away rest and an old 5 pin sight.
By todays standards it is a dinosaur, I got it used last year but it is mechanically sound, my bow shop estimates it is about 15 yrs old.

Anyone need a bow for their youngster or know of a deserving Jr hunter that could use a bow

However to be fair How low does it go in poundage? 62 lbs might be a bit to much.

I dont know how low you can set it, like I posted earlier its a dinosaur but it does shoots straight (ok maybe it shoots, maybe its me that cant shoot) i just want it to go to a good place and give back to the campfire.

Here's an idea, pay it forward, get a paint pen and sign the limb, give it to someone that needs it and tell them to use it until they get another one and then pass it on....and so forth....

My first good bow, a Hoyt Super G, has made it's round thru huntsville texas a few times over...I have come in contact with it three different times since I parted ways with it....

Now that's what I'm talkin bout!!

now where's the applause smiley when ya need one?

Another idea to consider. Check your area's schools or 4H and see if they have an NASP chapter and maybe a young shooter with a need.

I have a connection in Oregon who works for this place that collects computers for rebuilding etc then distributes them to the community and schools. Have sometimes wondered what it would take, manhours, storage etc to do something similar for kids in the increasing number of NASP programs throughout Texas, while some only participate for fun and never give it a second thought, but having worked with some of our students this past year, there are several who have taken to archery as much as any of us here and are actualy pretty good. Had some inquire as to "what a bow & stuff costs", only to see the dissapointment in their face, knowing it would probably be out of reach.

I know logistically and perhaps legally, it could be a bit of a nightmare... but man, wouldn't that be a great use for everyones "old" stuff?

My step son is 8 as well I think it would be better suited for someone else. Great offer though.

Man I wish I could make this work, but with so many different boys and strengths this wouldn't work for me. Thanks for keeping me in mind. I too have given away several bows and wish I had the idea of signing it with a paint pen and making it a traveling bow. I'll have to consider that for the next one...if there is one.
