    how to kill crete myrtle

I cut it ground level 8 months ago drilled hole and filled with salt, and put a tarp over it. The thing just grows around the tarp. The base is about 12in wide and about 6in from the foundation. The worst part is it is directly above the main gas line. I didnot plant it the people that owned the house prior to use did. How do I get rid of it?

I've never none anyone to affectively kill one, however the people we bought our house from managed to kill two that were well established!! I had to pull them out with my truck an they were dead for awhile!

You could always take up wood carving. Crepe Myrtly is a wonderful carving wood. A bit on the hard side, but other than that superb.

Other than that, the stuff Home Depot sells for killing poison ivy etc.

                  I really ain't got a clue.

I also killed one by spraying the leaves with round up. But that won't help you much.

Hahahahaha hahahahahahaha ^^^^ this is funny. No... I'd do this. Mix diesel with 2 stroke oil. Drill holes in the bases and dump it in the holes and let it soak in. Do that a few times and you should be good.

Drill a hole in it and fill it with Tordon. I hate those trees. We use Tordon (get at tractor supply) to remove cedars and mesquites on our place..works wonders.

x2 on the Remedy. Be carefull applying it so that you dont kill some other plant that you want to keep. I recommend making a cut into the tree and applying that way.

Thanks guys I am going to check into some of the mentioned things. I guess with the gas line directly under it I wont be able to dig it out ill just have to let it rot.
