    mechanicals.

This isnt a thread about which ones are the best. Or which ones I should get. I know which ones I've been thinking about trying the Rage 2 blades. I have never tried mech.s so that is why I was wondering what makes them open and what keeps them closed?

on the rage's there is a o ring at the bottom of the BH that locks the blades in and to open them, the force of impact pushes the blades past the o ring and opens the blades

I like the Rage Broadheads but in my opinion the oring does not lock the blades in place, it lightly holds them in place. Make sure you check them before each shot as they can come loose very easy if you stick them in a foam quiver.

I agree checking them after pulling them from your quiver EVERY time is a must

will the entry hole be the same size as the exit? I made a pass through on a 200lbs sow last year with my bow using muzzy's. So I should be able to make a passthrough with a rage on a deer correct? if hit in the right zone?

You should have no problem getting a pass through on a deer with a decent hit. The entry hole will be at least as big as the exit hole because the rage has rear deploying blades

Every deer I have shot with the 2 blade Rage has had a larger entry hole than exit hole. Exit was always about 2", but the entry was always at least 3"-4". Amazing holes!
