Has anyone sent their costas in for repair? I have a pair that are not even a year old yet and the rubber on the left ear piece is coming off. They have gotten so bad i cannon wear them. To send your glasses in for repair you must give them your credit card and pay for shipping. Minimum fee IF they determine the damage is under warranty is $12 and it says allow 3 weeks for repair. Does anyone else think that is BS? This is my first pair and expect more out of a $200 pair of sunglasses.

I've sent them back a few times. I go back and forth on the BS meter. Last pair I sent in they covered for the $12, was a frameless pair and they broke in half at the noise piece. Have sent the same pair in for "repair" and was charged about $30 to fix the same thing.
They will ask you for authorization before they "fix" it if it costs more than the $12.
I say "fix", and "repair", because all they do is send you a new pair. A brand new pair of Costas for $12 is a decent deal in my book.

I shipped one pair of Costas back 3 or 4 times to have rubber ear pieces replaced before I finally lost them (had them about 10yrs)
Bought a newer pair/model to replace them, need to send them back because the lenses are showing signs of stress fractures (no frames, ear pieces attach to lenses and nose piece holds them together) Not real thrilled with the newer ones and will probably look at other brands instead of Costa

If it's a manufacture defect, they're fix them for $12. If they decide it's not a manufacturer defect, it's more. They've always sent me a new pair, either way. I sent a pair in a couple fo weeks ago, I dropped them and cracked the lenses. $100 and I'll have a new pair in two weeks.
Sent the same pair in for delam of the lense and $12 later, I had a new pair.
They're not the fastest, but they are fair. I have no issues with their CS what so ever

I'm not super pleased with Costa. I've been wearing them for many years and I might switch when I buy another pair of glasses. I bought my wife a pair of Coco's a year ago. Really nice looking glasses. Problem is that all the rubber on the arms came off, nose piece broke, and both lenses, right more than the left, would pop out every time you tried to clean them. The right lens even popped out a few times at random. We just got lucky that a lens didn't drop to the floor and shatter, they would have said it was our fault for sure even though its due to the lenses not fitting in the frames properly. I sent them in, one year old being worn by a woman, frames trashed and totally falling apart due to being junk frames that were made in China. Paid the $12, they called me a week or so later and said they were going to replace the frames and reinstall the lenses. I said cool, but the problem is that they are on back order for over a month with no hard date on when they will get more. I asked about replacing them with another model and they said sure, for $80 or so since they couldn't re-use the existing lenses. I said no thanks, we'll wait. I did tell the lady what I thought about their brand becoming cheapened to Chinese junk and how I had been a loyal customer for many years. She didn't really seem to care, the company has blown up so much over the past 5yrs that they are chasing the all mighty profit rather than re-focusing their business and getting back on track with quality products.
I have to say, I do love Costa lenses, probably the best in the business. Their frames on many models leave a lot to be desired. Frankly, I expect a lot more than one year of easy use out of an expensive pair of glasses. We'll probably take our business to Maui Jim in the future.
