Question for the computer guru's

I run the music and videos at our church with a laptop. Sound from the headphone out jack to the soundboard. I am currently using Powerpoint. My question is can I record a CD on the laptop back from the soundboard while powerpoint is still running?

If that is clear as mud, ask what questions you come up with.

Why do u need to record it out of the Soundboard? Couldn't u take the audio files you added to ur powerpoint and just burn them?

Ah gotcha. How are u going from the Soundboard to the computer? Seems like microphone on the laptop would be the only way. Theoretically u could run both programs at the same time. One to record and powerpoint to play.

One thing to watch out for. Ages ago when we used to rip cds you had to make sure and not click anything while recording. The little click sound the computer made could be heard in the music. Not sure if that's an issue now.
