How long do the batteries last?

2 ways
1. 12 -2a with the sms switch OFF will last 6-8 weeks.
2. sms switch off..use a solar pack and 4- 2a rechargeable batteries and I don't know how long? Pack was $40 cable $10.

With sms turned off i got 4 months out of my last set of batteries. Just depends on how many pictures it takes. I'm in east Texas so there are no deer.
