Action Camera - Need Help with which one

I would really like to get an action camera to mount on my bow for this year. I started out looking at Go-Pro and have found more different kinds of cameras than I ever thought about.

Looks like a half dozen options and I don't know which one to get. Heck for a little more (or maybe the same) money I can get a High Definition MiniDV Camcorder. Might not work too good on the bow but will offer far more options for other things.

What are you guys using and what is the best bang for the buck?

I had a go pro and recently bought the sony action can and I like it much better. It is very easy to use and the wifi to iPhone works great. Sony HDR AS100.

              Kodak Playsport. Cheap on ebay.

Has zoom and better sound than a go pro.

The gopro 3+ black is a great little camera to use as a seondary camera but if you actually want to film with it. I would buy a good used sony HD handycam. Hope this helps.

                      This.
Just watch any of the outdoors shows... They use the "big camera" for the main shoots and almost exclusively use Go Pro's for everything else. The Go Pro Black is fantastic for what it is made for. There's an ap for your apple or android phone that works very well and it's free. Did y'all see the last shows on Discovery channel this past week during Shark Week... a guy had a rig to video close up shark bites that must have had 20 Go pro's mounted on an arc of almost 180 degrees. The thing they were trying do do is get a Great White to bite on a bait while centered inside that arc of cameras... it was pretty cool...

I haven't done a lot of videoing but this year I plan on doing a lot more. Right now I have a Sony Handycam I am going to use for up in the tree with me and I also have a GoPro 3 black I am going to mount on a tree where the deer will be. My idea is to record as much as I can with the sony and get the shot and slow motion stuff with the gopro. Its nice to be able to start and stop the gopro from the remote or your phone. I am eventually going to get a few more gopros and put them on trails so that when i see deer coming in on a certain trail and can have that camera start recording and so i will have a lot more camera footage.

Go pro's are great for perspective shots. Some may disagree with me, but I personally feel that you need multiple go pro's mounted in different spots in order to achieve a quality piece of video for whatever you are doing.

Having a small HD camcorder would be great for filming from the stand or ground blind. You could even rig up a little mount next to your bow hook (or something tree mounted) to go hands free.

That being said, I love my GoPro Hero 3+. I got it for Christmas last year and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It can do a variety of things and is easy to use.

I'd buy a Go Pro for the versatility and the different options you have. Having a bow only camera seems like a waste and filming the hunt with it will not be that great either.

I have really been wanting to get a cam to video a few hunts. Is there any decent quality cams for under 500?
