    Good AT Tire?

Looking for suggestions for a solid AT tire to put on my new 14 Ram 1500 4x4. Current size tire is a 275/60/20. I will more than likely run up to a 305/55/20 and get a leveling kit for the truck, as I'd prefer not to kill the mileage any worse than it will already be. The Toyo's have been thrown out at me by a couple different tires places, but I'm looking for other solid tires and opinions on them.

In your stock size, I've bought the Cooper Discoverer ATP's for 3 of my vehicles and love them! Awesome mileage, good AT and road manners. For your size (stock) they're $157/tire at Discount. For the 305's you want to go to, you're going to spend ~$350/tire

I'm a huge fan of BFG All Terrain's. As soon as the stock tires on my Taco go bald, they will be replaced with the BFG's. Ran them on my CJ, a few Rangers, and my old Ram Quad Cab. Never failed me in WI, GA, VA, SC or TX. Got good mileage out of them in all of vehicles too, about 60-65K a set with regular rotations and weekly tire pressure checks.

I have the Cooper Discoverer STT on my z71. Aggressive look and not a rough ride either.

Well ill throw the toyo at ya too. I have the AT II on my f150 with a level. I got the 295/60-20's which are one of the "extreme" sizes with a deeper tread and more aggressive shoulder. They balanced very well and are not much louder than the Michelin's that were on it before. They also have the 50k miles warranty.

Did you notice a big hit on your fuel mileage?

About a mile per gallon. I drive into Houston though so I'm not sure how representative that is. If I hit traffic it can be stop and go for miles. I really like the tires so far though. Absolutely no rubbing with no trimming either, even at full lock on angled drives.

Goodyear dura tracks are what I will be putting on my next truck. No personal experience with them but I have heard good things. And BFG a/t's are a very good option.

I've always been a BFG guy for all my trucks up until this last set of tires I put on my excursion last year. Toyo Open Country AT's in 315/75/16. My buddy that owns a Napa store suggested them and said he gets a good price on them. I LOVE THEM. Smooth and Quiet, not wearing or cupping as bad as the bfg's do.

Cooper discoveries, Nitto Terra Grapplers, Firestone Transforce, and general grabbers are all great A/T tires. I would run away, fast, if someone offered me a set of BFG all terrains, even if they were free. I like my fenders how they are.
