I do not know you but I admire the courage you have displayed. My prayers go out to you and your family.

You are an inspiration to many, JP. You impacted lives and made a difference long before you were diagnosed. As one of the original writers and contributors to the very first Texas Bowhunters' Journal email newsletter, way back in October 1998, you are one of the cornerstones on which this site and this community was built. You are a great contributor, and more importantly a great friend. You've inspired me with your input and contributions to TBJ/TBH but you inspire me much more in life by your courage and dignity as you prepare to rejoice with our Father in heaven. I ache for your family and for our TBH family as we struggle with seeing you go through this disease and prepare for what appears to be inevitable, and yet I'm glad you have an opportunity to share what must be a supernatural love with your family. It's a struggle to find words, but I'm also glad to be able to tell you ahead of time how much you mean to the site, and to me. I love you, my friend.
God bless you and your family, JP.

Originally posted by Ricky T View PostContemplating ones future with a report like yours is mind boggling on so many levels: mentally, physically, spiritually. Being secure in our salvation helps tremendously but we cant stop our hearts from breaking for our family. I pray for a peace and understanding that overwhelms you and your family, J.P. God wishes that none would perish. He did not arrange this. If it is truly your time to go, Heaven will be truly unimagineably and undeniably wonderful. God bless you, brother.
When news of Lazarus' severe sickness came to Jesus, Jesus stayed where he was to preach for 4 days, knowing that his friend Lazarus would die. When he arrived and Lazarus' sister, Mary, said, "you are too late, your friend has died and has been in the tomb for 4 days." Jesus wept.
Why? because He knew He was about to pull Lazarus from a place so wonderful, so peaceful that he wouldn't want to come back. You will be going to that place. While our hearts break, angels are preparing for your arrival. Do not fear or be sad. We will join you soon enough in Heaven, rejoicing at our long awaited reunion.
You have been, are, and always will be an inspiration to everyone. May peace and comfort come soon to you and your family. may God wrap His arms of love around you. And, when I see a shooting star in the night sky, I will think of you, chasing deer in heaven.

JP, you are a true inspiration to me along with countless others. I've had the pleasure of knowing you for a few years but only gotten to see you a couple of times. Just trying to imagine what you have gone thru and are going thru makes my heart hurt. I've prayed for you since I heard about your diagnosis and I will continue to pray for you and your family. You sir truly are a great man.
I love you, buddy.

I don't post often, but you have to know that the courage, resolve, and faith you show is truly awe inspiring to me. As I think of the trivial problems that cause me and many others to just implode, you remind me of what is important. Cancer has touched my family many times and Mom is currently in her battle with bladder cancer. I don't have any really profound thought to share, but felt compelled to let you know that you have touched the life of a stranger and you and your family will be in my thoughts. Thanks, JP.
