Do not try this at home..

My best friend has been off work for some time with a back injury.

I help him out, as much as I can, with mowing, around the house, etc.
Saturday, i was shredding his pasture, and found a weak limb on a mesquite tree. ( Forgot about the sissy bar on his tractor).

Hit me between the shoulders, and pinned me against the steering wheel. Luckily, I had my foot on the clutch and stopped pretty quick like... I sat there 5-10 mins trying to get my phone out of my pocket, but couldn't. Finally fingered out, the limb was resting on the fender, and was able to crawl out.

Had to get a chainsaw and cut the limb up to get the tractor free. Luckily, only one small scratch.

My back has several scratches, and is sore as heck. A split second sooner, it would have hit me in the head.

I did keep the wood for the grill, but it will be awhile till it dries.

Be careful when on a tractor. Mr. Prosser, that includes you.

My wife did the same thing with our zero turn mower. Ducked under a low hanging limb but the ROPs caught the limb pinning her on the mower.

Glad you're OK! I hate those sissy bars. I know they're supposed to be a safety device, but dang, they cause a lot of accidents too... When moving around in trees/brush, I pull the pins on them and let it down just for that reason. Pretty level ground, front end loader and brush hog, ain't likely to turn the tractor over in the first place. Saw a guy grab a low hanging wire at a deer camp once... dang near fried him. Fortunately like you, he was just easing forward, moving a trailer with a load on it and had his foot on the clutch... stopped the tractor before the line snapped.

              Again, glad you weren't hurt!

Keegan, I was more embarrassed than anything, once I stepped back and looked at it. The wife got mad I didn't call her. Like she could do anything, other than tell me how stupid I was.
This is the same place that has the Pecan wood... When you get ready.

Chef, I respect that statement. Lol.

Glad your OK. Its strange how we never look up much or think about things that are overhead. No wonder getting up high gives you the advantage hunting.

Once on lake Fork the wind pushed my boat against a tree trunk, it snapped at the water level and the top 20' fell across the back deck of my boat between the drivers seat and the motor.
Talk about your pucker moment, that was mine.
