    Groundhog Max for Polaris Rangers

Been looking at buying a Groundhog Max disc to pull behind my Polaris Ranger EV. Don't need a tractor because all my food plots will be either in feed pens or small clearings. Seems like a good option, but wondering if anybody here has used them with their Rangers? Did they work well? Who had best price for you? Been looking on CL for good used one, but probably going to have to buy new in time to plant.

Works great behind 4 wheeler. Would be concerned with turning radius for small plots with ranger. Got mine from tractor supply.

works great on my ranger! had mine a year and i ordered mine from the factory. get a set of plastic ramps to aid in deploying the plow, saves time and energy over a jack

I had one and it did a fairly good job but I have a tractor and a disc so I sold the groundhog.

I used a piece of 4x6 to help get disc on. Lay it down in front of rear tires and drive up on it. Set disc and back off of 4x6 and remove from under atv and go.

Works well just pay attention to your receiver. It's stout and can bent or break the welds on your receiver mount. Walk your area and get all the rocks you can out of the way first. They can ding the disc's. The ride will be a bit bumpier than you would normally get if pulling a disc'er. You will feel every rock and root.

I use it on ours and no complaints. Quite happy with it actually though the turning radius does require a few more runs typically. Our soil is pretty sandy and I just dig a hole to install it (vs. ramps) but I like the idea of the 4X6 though I can't recall ever seeing that dimension at Lowes/Home Depot.

Of course, the last few years the bigger issue has been rain. Hopefully, we're past that now. I prefer the food plots to emerge in the fall as opposed to the spring which has been my recent experience.

Could you use this on a truck?

Possibly but you would have to squat the back end a lot.

                  Update and need help please.
Hey Guys, have a question for those of you pulling the Groundhog Max behind your Ranger EVs. I tried my new Groundhog behind my EV today in hopes of plowing my food plots. After about 20 mins, the Red overheat would come on and I would stop a while, let it cool and start over again and it would be fine for a while.
I have it set on a pretty shallow setting (basicaly just enough to break ground) and going thru soft sandy dirt, nothing hard or rocky. No hills, flat pasture. It's a 2011 Model with less than 100 hrs and never had overheating warnings until today,
What speed setting , "High, Med. or Low" and are you using and are you engaging 4 or 2 wheel drive? Do I need to move it even shallower? Anybody else ever have this problem or give me advice on what I need to do to keep from ruining something? Gonna try again in the morning if it's safe.

Thanks guys. Ran again yesterday, using 4WD and LOW setting. Crazy thing still overheated with GroundHog Max. Worked fine with just normal riding around If anyone else has had a problem, I would appreciate your input. Order Service Manual today incase I need to go the route of putting new fluids and lubes in every thing. I did a fair amount of researching before I purchased the GroundHog Max, just trying to see what I might be doing wrong. Heck, it migh wind up in the classifieds!

Whole thing weighs less than 70 lbs and I am just plowing typical East Texas sandy loam, no hills. Hoping someone who has used their Ev's with a pull behind can chime in too?
