Ive been to both. Like others have said each has its pros. I didnt golf at coushatta only gambled I liked it. It was a little less pricey on the tables and slots. L'auberge seemed like it was more expensive and seemed like a more luxurious casino similar to that which are in Las Vegas.

As stated, L'auberge is a step above Coushatta on the nice factor for the overall resort. It's about as close to a Vegas casino you are going to get without going to Vegas. They also have a spa, expensive, but top knotch.

Also as stated, that nice factor comes with a price. The gambling at L'auberge, specifically table games, is more expensive. $25 minimum is the norm on a weekend. Also, even during the day, I've never seen their craps table below a $15 minimum. At Coushatta, $5 minimums can be found during the day and with some $10's and $15's mixed at night. Last time I was there, they had a $5 craps table during the day, which only went up to $10 that Saturday night.

Another thing I noticed is the dealers at L'auberge are much better. If you go to Coushatta, be ready to do some math as I caught them shorting me on payouts a few times. Not on purpose either, just inexperienced dealers more than anything.

I go a handful of times per year and generally end up at L'auberge. More than anything, L'auberge is better located. It's within 5 minutes off of I-10 and the total drive from Houston is about 1 hour less than to Coushatta. The exit for Coushatta is another 20 or so miles down the road, then you have to drive north on an FM road another 20 miles to Kinder. Word of warning, that road is heavily radar enforced as well.

L'auberge for me. Won a few times, best bet is to stay away from the slots and do the black jack......best odds for the player.

Another for LauBerge. We go about once a month, and the wife likes it a alot better than Coushatta.

L'Auberge is very nice, and there is good fishing nearby, too, at Lake Calcasieu.

Coushatta, if you are going to gamble, table minimums are a lot less. Also the poker is better IMHO. Unless you like playing poker with deep pockets that don't mind throwing away $75 pre flop on that 10 / 2 off suite, then hitting it (crazy deep pocket, poker players at L'Auberge). Not that much longer of a trip to Coushatta, the comps are really good.

L'Auberge's pool is much better and IMO the food is much better, haven't played golf at either, I usually go to gamble.
