Guess its time to throw a cell phone in the pit!!

Haha. Have had my youngest daughter (10) for a few weeks and her mother let her bring her cell phone of which I absolutely do not agree with her having in the first place. Anyway, I take the phone up at night because no 10 year old child should have access to texting, calling, internet browsing, etc. all night long. My daughter asked me this afternoon if she could test her ear phones on my phone to see if they would work because they were not working on her phone. Long story short, she was freaking out and called her mom, and of course IT wanted to talk to me and of course I did not agree with what IT had to say and told my daughter that she would survive a couple days with no headphones because her mom was picking her up on Sunday. I went to shut the phone off and saw text messages that were going between my daughter and her mother of which she was told that they have more at home and my 10 year old daughter's response was, "I know, but I can't watch Grays Anatomy without them". The ex sent me a message that she will be coming by in the morning to drop off a new set of head phones in my mailbox.... Cannot finish this post with proper words for this site..

I didnt get a cell phone till I was 21. And if I was doing homework or out and about and missed my show, I had to wait for a rerun! Kids have it so rough these days.

Yup, heaven forbid a child has to miss a couple episodes of Grays Anatomy.. I could understand the Fall Guy, Night Rider, or the Dukes but really??

At 16 my son complained about the limits of the phone we gave him {no text} so I fixed that by giving him a pager and a roll of quarters, I still have the phone somewhere around here. He got his new phone couple years later when he joined the Navy. So your not the only Dad that just doesn't understand

Mr. Elkbowhunter Sir, while I absolutely appreciate your insight in most serious situations that arise here, I can most certainly say that if you were to spend any amount of time with my ex given your religious conviction and approach, you would probably say that an exorcism itself would do nothing for that woman..

Sounds like everyone would be better off throwing the Ex in the fire.

I kinda thought you felt that away when you called your daughters mother an IT. You know that it will not get better right? unless there is better communication...thats all my post said. Pray for better communication. You both had a daughter and while you think your ex needs an exorcism you know you WILL have to deal with her for many many years to come...Marriage, grandkids, birthdays, graduation grandkids, birthdays etc...it goes on and on and on.... The deal with the Greys Anatomy you have no control of....forget about it. I wouldn't let it get me upset. Just not worth the all the anger. It will steal your joy. Sorry you took my comment as my religious convictions. I think you understood what I was saying. Not dogging you....I feel sad for you. Divorce is never easy. Good luck.

I absolutely do understand you Sir and took absolutely no offense to your comment whatsoever. While my beliefs definitely begin and end with the basis of Christianity, I am by far the perfect example of a Christian but very well do believe. That being said, I might lack the proper vocabulary to explain what I meant when I made the comment of conviction. With that comment, I meant nothing but the upmost respect to you for your faith, understanding, patience, and ability to turn the other cheek on certain things of which I struggle with. That is all Sir.

I put myself in timeout for 60 days. I'm back…..with a vengeance. Well, I'm back at least.
