    Mechanic Help!

I have a 2009 Chevy 2500HD Z71 and the front starts to shake pretty bad at 45-50 mph in the front end. It does go away when I go faster than that, and I dont notice it too bad when im slower than 40. First thing I did was rotate and balance the tires, that didnt work. Took it to the dealer they checked the entire front end and said everything was good and tight and couldnt find anything wrong. I have good tread left on my tires, maybe a little less than 1/2". They are 285's BF Goodrich mud terrains T/A KM2's. Any ideas on what could be causing this before I take it back to the dealer?

Did they check to make sure the tires were not out of round before they rotated the tires? Did the vibration change at all when the tires were rotated?

Yea the vibration actually got a little worse after rotation. And I just checked the tread the front only have about 1/4" of tread, the back have about 3/8". And stock steel wheels.

Its nowhere near as violent as the death wobble. Feels almost like going down a washboard road.

Pull it out. Problem gone? Probably half shaft.

Look into balancing beads. I've had great luck with them on larger tires that can't really be balanced well without using tons of weight. A 285 should be fine to balance normally. But the beads will work super on smaller tires too.
