    Male Neutured Cat Owners--please read

We lost our male cat today because of stones in his bladder...Apparently this is very common for inside males that have been neutered..If you notice your cat is going to litter box often, take a look and see if he has actually urinated..I noticed something wrong Saturday and he went to vet Sunday afternoon and didn't make it..He was only 8 so he still had a lot of life left..

Yessir. We have been told it can have a lot to do with giving them tap water if it has a lot of minerals in it. We give our boys filtered water like we drink.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Its tough to lose a family member.

You see that problem when Being neuter to early in age . I've seen some large stones that are size of golf ball to as little as being able to see with the microscope only . You might want to to wait at least when there about 8 month to get your cat neuter .

I'm sorry to hear about your loss of a family member. Never a good thing. I was not a cat person always a dog person. But I got two male kittens from a place where they were given one last time prior to disposing of them. I could not let that happen. So I have learned since then, they make great pets.

Our cat did that but lucky for us we caught it in time, $1300 later and three days at the vet the cat was fine.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I have one at the vet right now from a Tom-cat whipping it's hind-end about once a month. Several bad infections from bites.
Thanks for the info. I'll be watching.

seen it several times in the clinic... bad deal, they have special food to help but I've seen us do surgery to pull them all out and then a year later back again. Bad deal

I'm sorry for your loss. Tough deal. Especially when you try and realize it is too late.

We lost our male, neutered, cat last January due to rat poisoning. He was eating rats that had it and over the course of a few weeks we noticed he looked unthrifty, lost weight, etc. At first we thought it was worms but had him vetted to make sure. We thought it was something he could pull through, but after 2 nights at the vet's office and only a 50% chance of living, we asked to end his suffering. He was 11 years old.

I'm not sure I agree with anything else that was said above by other people because for everything this is mentioned, I can come up with an exception to it.

I sure am sorry for your loss, though.
