Using Climbing Stand in Conjunction with Ladder Stand

I picked up a Game Winner Climbing Stand from Academy recently. The trees at our lease are not very conducive to using a climbing stand. However, I thought about putting it on the trunk above one of the ladder stands. This would allow one hunter to hunt from the ladder stand and another hunter to hunt from the climbing stand and possibly video the other hunter.

Has anyone tried this? Is it bad to leave the climbing stands out year round?

Seems lie it would work. I dont know about leaving climbers out all year, never done that, but I have left them for several weeks a time on the same tree. Deer didn't seem to notice or be bothered by it being there.

I leave mine out all season. I put the climber in the tree and ratchet strap it down and use screw in steps to get up to it.

That is a great way to video hunts. The person filming can be set up facing almost any direction to as long as the camera angle will suffice.

As far as leaving stands out all year- We do it- just check the ratchet straps for any weathering or dry rot

yep works like a champ, I have used the top portion of my climber on ladder stands the were homemade and didn't have nice seats in them. works out great, also I have used the climber on trees that ladder stands work on but climbers don't in the same fashion, just hang it above the ladder, even turned the climber facing a differnt way from the ladder so that ladder was hidden behind the tree- this is a little trickier getting in and out of

Why wouldn't you just use a lock on stand instead? I have not done it, but that is why I purchased those inexpensive $30 lock on stands from Academy.

And yes, people use them to video a hunt, or help thier kiddo hunt from a single ladder stand.
