    Help finding a car...

I need to get rid of my SUV and get a car. Honestly, I'm not a car person and I'd really rather have a Wrangler but I need decent MPG. So, anyone have any suggestions for a (sigh) new midsized 4 door sedan that they particularly like?

    Thanks!

My family has had really good luck with Nissan. Maximas, Sentras, and Frontier Trucks. Almost forgot a Titan too.

My work car is a 2001 Sentra with 220,000 Miles still gets 33MPG

Jenn, I have a monster commute. I drive a KIA Sportage for commuting. I avaerage 30 MPG. It has enough room to haul crap like groceries, and still fits my family of 5, although I wouldn't go on a family trip in it. I still get to drive my beater 97 F-150 on weekends.

Go test drive the new Ford Fusions. I drove a friends last week. Nice ride, great interior and gas mileage.

Kia sorento. Nice ride option of awd w/ a switch to turn on and off.

I just bought a 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage which on the outside is a small car, but suprisingly it has a lot of room inside. I can sit in the back seat (I'm 5'6") with the front seat adjusted for me and my knees do not hit the back of the front seats.

It gets 50 mpg if you keep the speeds around 60 mph (it's not a hybrid) and I have gotten 42 mpg on a road trip while averaging 65-70 mph. I put $2k down on mine for a fully loaded (accept for navigation) ES model with automatic transmission and my payments are $256 a month for 5 years.

It has a 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty as well.

I've thought about them... As well as the Chevy Cruz. Anyone, thoughts on the Cruz?

Cruz has a Diesel engine option I think

                          Look at a VW Jetta..

4 doors, turbo diesel, 40-45 mpg and has plenty of power.

My buddy just did this for a commuter car. Think he said he is getting 38 around town and over 40 on the highway.
maybe he will chime in with more info

I just so happened to drive the new Cruz and the Malibu Saturday. I will say, the gas Cruz and the Malibu were pretty close on MPG; if memory serves me correct it was a combined mpg on the Cruz at 33-mpg and the Malibu was 29-mpg. The diesel Cruz was better, and on the highway, it showed on the sticker at 46-mpg. And it has some "get up and go."

I'm leaning towards the diesel because the wife was a little upset that I had an $800 gas bill last month from all the driving I do for my business, and that is just because I want to squeeze every dime out of the tank. Let me know if you are interested in that and I will PM you a name and number here in Fort Worth.
