so im in yhe blind staring out the hole waiting on hogs.....got my blue lights goin...anyway,,its gettin late and i pack up the 270 and halfway zippered up i stop as i see a dark spot movin towards me...feeder is 60 to 70 yrds away but the hog is comin in close,,more like 15 or 20 yrds i think close enough...so i pick up the 10/22 and i got this big boar in my sight and i quickly click on my light skyward and bring it down on him.... light in his eye he just stands there and i move the rifle a bit quicker than i would like and apparently mr.boar dont like it much either...off he goes no shot fired...then i think...how REFRICKENDICULOUS this all was....i didnt even need the light i can see clear all the way to the feeder 60-70 yrds cause the MOON WAS SO BRIGHT...facesmack!!...anyone else get too used to using something they may not need in a special circumstance.....LMBO and disappointed!

I can see hogs at 60-80 yards on ANY full moon; and with binoculars, they're easy to see at 150+. There's WAY to much dependence on flashlights for hunting hogs. As long as there's about 60% moon, or more, I've never understood why people want to use flashlights - for the very reason the OP discovered.

It's great for open terrain, my place has a bunch of trees and it's dark under them no matter how bright the moon is.
