Speeding Ticket and Driver Safety on Line class??

So I get this ticket in Tool Texas.... 69 in a 55. Cost is $165.00 to the fine town of tool.
So, If I take a Drivers Safety Class, I save the $165.
I have heard you have to set in front of the computer for 6 hours to take the class. WHAT WHAT!!!??? Can this be true? I thought maybe you just review the data and take a test?
Anyone take this on line class? How long did it take? I looked at a couple and they were $20.
Is it worth the hassle or should I just pay the $165?
    What say the??

Pay the fine. I took the class and after hour 3 that fine sounded like a bargain

It doesn't take that long, it's easy, you don't have to do it all at once, and you can do it at home and watch tv or work on something (or drink beer).

I don't know how man times I've done it, but they send me birthday and Christmas cards.

I am a cheap *** and didn't want it on my record so I took the class. Yes you have to sit in front of the computer for a long time but not all at the same time you can take it over several weeks an hour at a time when you feel like it, have it mailed to you and then sign it and mail it the courthouse or where ever they told you to send it. I think it is 14 hours or something like that of computer time. It wasn't to bad.

          I used this website.

They usually bust you for $100 or so in court cost in addition to the dd.

Yep I am a fast reader so I just read all of it real quick and then sat and watched tv until it would let me take the mini quiz at the end of each chapter. Pretty painless.

I got one last week and am going to do deferred adjudication. I just can't get another ticket in 90 days or they both go on my record.

My wife sells defense driving classes, among many other things at her job. You can start and stop as many times as you like.
Also when you complete the course send the certificate to your insurance company. Most companies will give a slight discount for taking the defense driving course.
