No. But you will need a license to buy herbicides with Picloram in it, like Tordon or Surmount. It is well worth your time to get the license for your own safety. Contact your County AgriLife office to get on the class waiting list.

You can buy tordon at tractor supply, you just cant buy the big bottle. We order all our stuff online. Not only is it cheaper, but we can buy any size we want. We don't have the license.

I am going to try Triclopyr. It is one of the chemicals in Remedy, but does not require an applicator license. Supposed to work on cactus and mesquite.

I'm a licensed applicator and the answer is no. Give them a shot of remedy mixed with diesel.

We have thousands of cactus on our place. We tried spraying them, damaging and then spraying them, and digging em up (disposing of em properly). IT ALL SUCKS! I have found that mowing them works just fine. My neighbor has mowed his for 4 years and you can walk barefoot on his place. He said he has never used a chemical, just a bush hog.

Buy the blue dye to mix in with you chemical mixture. It will save you time and money.

Google cactus kicker or cactus crusher. I can't remember which. The guy is located here in TX. No chemicals needed. And works great!

As an applicator myself I have never read a diesel msds or label with herbicide recommendations. I do believe that diesel is a fuel. Please use things as that are intended.

Some of you guys are too uptight. I use diesel for everything. Weed killin, fuel for the tractor, burning brush piles and I mix it with corn for hogs.

Read the remedy label. Labeled for mixture with #2 diesel.
